I decided to ride to school on Wednesday. It looked cloudy and
overcast just before I left. I got out the door and it started
drizzling. I made it to school without getting too wet, since a) it
didn't rain very hard and b) I have fenders, which do in fact help,
and don't just look dorky.
Once on campus, I took a turn a little too fast and the tires
slipped out from under me, and I slid along the sidewalk for a
while. "That was fun." After hopping up and riding the rest of the way
to the lab, I assessed the damage. Very dirty pants and jacket. A
rather large hole in the pants near the knee. I needed some new pants
anyway. Bleeding scrapes below the knee, and on my right arm down from
the elbow.
Nothing like a little crash to make you feel alive. No head trauma
or joint soreness. It was a pretty slow crash.
I think that the RSI caused by Emacs key shortcuts and my workspace
switching combos (ctrl-alt-{a,s,z,x}) is much worse than the crash
injuries.
